About Clark Fork Meats

Tucked away in the picturesque setting of Plains, Montana, Clark Fork Meats is an unassuming gem that promises an unforgettable culinary experience. The restaurant, located at 15 Mollys Ln, serves as a beacon for those seeking expertly prepared meats in a relaxed atmosphere. Walking through its doors, the rich aroma of grilled beef and smoked delicacies invites diners to settle in for a memorable meal.

Clark Fork Meats has curated a menu offering that showcases the finest meat selections this side of the Rockies. From its succulent rib-eye steaks to the surprisingly tender smoked brisket, every dish has been crafted with a passion for quality. Chicken enthusiasts should definitely try the roasted half bird seasoned with their signature blend of spices—it’s both juicy and flavorful without overpowering the senses. Vegetarian options may be sparse, but the roasted vegetable platter and crispy, golden fries offer solid choices for non-meat eaters joining the party.

The charming establishment has quickly become a beloved local haunt, yet it attracts foodies from neighboring towns curious to taste the buzz-worthy dishes. While dining in a bustling, lively environment, be sure to engage with the friendly staff who are always ready to recommend a dish or two based on your palate. It's not a surprise to hear rave reviews about the service, which complements the good food and adds to the overall pleasant experience.

Forgot to mention the homemade sauces—let's not overlook those. With a range of house-made dips and spreads, such as the zesty chimichurri and velvety blue cheese sauce, every bite can be personalized to one's liking. Diners often leave little dabs of each on the side to discover new flavor combinations that bring the meals to life.

Ambiance at Clark Fork Meats is relaxed yet inviting, much like the Montana outdoors surrounding it. Wooden furniture, simple decor, and a fireplace add to its rustic charm, making it a cozy retreat for anyone passing through Plains. A small-town eatery with big-time heart, it’s a place where the hustle of the outside world seems to slow down with each tender cut enjoyed. Whether it’s a casual lunch or a hearty dinner, Clark Fork Meats offers a unique fusion of quality meat and warm hospitality that leaves patrons singing its praises long after the final bite.

I travel 2 1/2 hours one way to get my venison processed here. There by far the best I've ever tried. Smoked turkey for Thanksgiving from them is now a tradition (yep, that good as everyone in my extended family now makes sure I am providing one). Polish dogs and cheese and Jalapeno dogs are my favorite.

Absolutely the best! We had previously purchased a side of beef from somewhere else and it was absolutely horrible. The meat tasted and smelled weird. No matter what I did, we could never get the taste or smell out. I was a little reluctant to spend more money but took a chance on Clark Fork Meats. Best decision we could've made. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They explained to me why meat sometimes smells and tastes bad, and that is why they take extra care when hanging the meat. They listen to what you want and deliver it just as promised. I love how they package the meat too! I would highly recommend getting your meat from them!

We were in town for our daughter's wedding in Thompson Falls, and in all the chaos, we did not not realize that nobody had bought the meat for the reception until the night before the wedding! A quick call to Clark Fork Meats on the morning of the wedding day, and they had a box of steaks all individually shrink-wrapped and ready to go a couple of hours later. The steaks grilled up beautifully to every user's taste, very rare to well done, and they were absolutely the most delicious and tender steaks we have ever had. No sticking between the teeth, unlike the usual supermarket steaks!

The best German wiener I've had in a loooooong time. Hits all the notes. Summer sausage, salami, & others also outstanding in quality & taste. Wish could find products in msla, but will still gladly drive mission valley for it. Keep up the awesome work.

Visiting from out of state and wanted to bring some local foods home. They have a great selection of local Elk and Bison!

Truly amazing experience with very helpful, friendly folks. Try any of the fresh meats and DO go out of your way to stop in here and try out the freshness! This is a lost art and these folks have it figured out. The shop is always clean and the prices are great. I especially like the snack meats - Thuringer (Thuringian) sausage is my favorite, and the fresh pork chops are so much better than what you can find in the grocery store. Love the dogs that greet you when you drive up. All businesses should take note of how business is conducted here. Kudos! Very highly recommended.

These are the best sausage sticks I've ever eaten. The pepper sticks were amazing, and the "jumping Jack" ones even better. The teriyaki sticks should not be missed!
